I wish this was the case for me. While I do get a BBS or near-BBS (save for a spot on my neck), I could shave 2x/day but have not had the need/motivation to do so yet.
I can pretty much have a full beard if I didn't shave for a week.
Some folks stubble grows faster + thicker than others...unfortunately for me.

Bingo. No one NEEDS to shave twice a day, it's more personal preference - like everything else in this sport.

I'm sorry but but I have a damn course and heavy ears there are member who ca vouche for it. Today I shaved with my merkur slant and went ATG and that was 8 this morning and I'm still smooth granted ymmv

Yes, I've noticed. As soon as I switched from the fusion to a DE and straight. The hairs are very coarse on my face, I could lap stones! I have abrasive face and I turned 40 several months ago, am I old now?

What's your routine? Do you do a WTG, XTG, ATG or just WTG? If I do just a WTG I could shave twice a day, but usually I do a WTG and XTG which gets me through the day, say maybe 16 hours.

I see comments on this forum like "I can't abide stubble" and so on, but it's only stubble. Whether you shave again in the evening or not it will still be there in the morning. But hey, it's your face. If you have the time to spare, and more importantly it doesn't cause irritation, go for it.

as you learn better technique the shaves improve. I shave every 2-3 days usually but If I wanted BBS all the time would shave every two. By the end of the second day I have a normal 5 oclock shadow and by day three it's real rough.
It becomes a trade off between how many passes/how many days between shaves/irritation from too much too often. I like to let my face rest for a couple days.

i kinda go with the every other day routine , although i did shave 2 days in a row this week , but i only shave cause i like to use the straight and or DE now , if not for havin fun id prob be on my way to a beard like the guys from ZZ-Top ..lol
