Default Shaving multiple times a day.

I was wondering if anyone else found it necessary to shave more then once a day. I've found that anything less then a wedge will jam on my stubble if I don't shave twice a day. By shaving twice a day I keep my stubble nice and short which makes the job much easier for my full hollows.

I got the idea to shave twice a day after I removed my goatee and started having serious pulling and jamming issues while shaving. Also my finacee complained my 5 o'clock shadow was dagger like and insisted I shave more then once a day to keep my face smooth. So far no irritation problems and I'm getting to enjoy my full hollows once again.

Whatever works. I found that straight razor shaving resulted in a smoother shave and the next day's stubble was something less than with my Atra Plus. I also find that I can shave more often if I wish since irritation is considerably reduced when I do it right... The only time I was ever forced to shave twice a day with any regularity was in boot camp with a cartridge razor and that was a killer. Then again, for some reason, I get an even more excellent shave when I wait a day between shaves.

Some of my razors pull more than others, but while I find that lighter pressure is still the trick, a firm hand is still required. A sudden pull that alters the angle of the blade is what makes what might be a small nick into a worse cut.

If you need to shave a second time it means you didn't do it right the first time

I see comments on this forum like "I can't abide stubble" and so on, but it's only stubble. Whether you shave again in the evening or not it will still be there in the morning. But hey, it's your face. If you have the time to spare, and more importantly it doesn't cause irritation, go for it.

I've got an "every other day" face. There's no way I could do it twice a day and, better still, no need. I get a good enough shave that on the second day I've got some stubble going but not too bad. I wouldn't go to a formal occasion without shaving (on the second day) but given that I'm retired every other day works fine.

Totally agree, probably one of the best thing about this whole system is getting a great shave good for 24 hrs. JMHO

What I've noticed over the years is that my day-after stubble is much rougher using a straight than my old Gilette. Has anyone else experienced this?

I agree. It's only been a couple weeks, but I've noticed the hairs feeling stiffer than I remember.

Gentlemen, I hate to be the one to point this out to you, but....................................it's because you're getting older. Which of course is no bad thing when you consider the only alternative.
