Sounds like RAD to me. You've just convinced yourself it's a need for a shorter blade . I'm not vertically challanged, nor do I feel my face is anything other than someting on the ugly side of average, but I still feel like the blade takes up a large portion of my facial area. Certainly it isn't overlapping my nose when I'm shaving my cheek, but it is capable of doing over 3/4 in one pass if it weren't for a hollow spot and a narrow, flat plane moving out to a long, gentle slope towards my nose . You do get used to it mate, but don't let me talk you out of that new razor you want .

Thanks Mick, every one of my ladies WILL get used eventually, and Im already past RAD. I just found out Saturday that the guy i have gotten a few very nice clean razors for all under $15 each has several more even better ones at home he is bringing in for me. I cant wait to see them already. Ive already bought 4 or 5 from him thus far, including a Boker and a modified Dubl Duck that needs a tad bit of superglue to stick the gold leafing back on as it sticks me while i handle it. But variety is the spice of life right? Short, long, thick, thin, i want to experience the shave on all of them. So the Dubl Duck might be next then the Spartacus and who knows from there. They are all amazing I cant get enough. Is there a brush and soap addiction as well Mick?

I bought a Japanese kamisori in a big part because the shave blade is less than 2 inches to reach places I can't get the right angle on with my American straight.

I guess I do have it bad. I recently received 3 more tubs of Mikes, and have to say all 4 of the ones that I have received are incredible. The lather and scent are fabulous, I just have to patiently wait for the barber scent to come back in stock. I should also receive my MWF(figure the massive amount of people on here that use it and swear by it cant all be wrong, its worth the try) and Castle Forbes Lime in the mail within the next day or two. And then the brushes, in the same shipment are two silver tips, figure I had only tried the pure badger up to this point, said why not give them a shot. Though i cant complain as my pure's have done me well for the years that i have used them. So yes I'm hooked, if all goes well and i can put an additional coat of varnish on the new brush/strop rack i threw together i want to have enough products to look descent on it, before i take pictures and post them for others to comment/criticise. I must say I love it all.
    respectfully,
    Christian

http://straightrazorpalace.com/razor...gold-edge.html here is the link mine was made smaller for obvious reasons but it still shaves like a dream..so I really think you can find a vintage razor and have it made shorter.. Save I think a decent amount of money.. There is always a chance that I believe some nasty things can happen while grinding a razor.. But I think it's an option and will save u money instead of a custom razor.. Let's see if Gsixgun will chime in on this since he did mine..
