Shaving moustache area
How the heck do you shave at a near vertical angle under your nose? I keep scraping my beard instead of cutting it there.

I go in parallel with the bottom of my nose. Then just as I touch skin, I reduce the angle and "scoop" the lather off my upper lip. The angle at the top is pretty extreme but it's a cutting motion, not scraping and it works.

Thanked: 247I use the tip of my Spanish point to angle under my nose, or I push my upper lip way down over my front teeth (make the "o" face then pull your lips into your mouth) and use the scooping motion described above.

"Coup de Maitre" works for me as well.
I do that WTG twice right in the middle, then I go XTG twice for the rest of my stache. I never go ATG. Combination of WTG and XTG gets everything smooth enough for me.

Having a small blade like a 4/8s or 3/8s really helps there.
That old Coup de Ville (har har) maneuver is probably the hardest stroke to do. You can watch it a million times but you need to actually do it to learn how to maneuver the blade the right way to fit your anatomy. No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

Yes, the Coup de Maitre works with every blade I have, from a 5/8 to a 9/6 Wade & Butcher. Like unit, for that stubble just beneath my nostril (no one needs to picture that), I use the tip of the razor, whether a spike point or round, with an XTG stroke.
Lately, for my wife's sake, I finish my shave by going AGT on the upper lip. So far no problems, and I get totally BBS. It's amazing. That stroke also let's me know if the edge needs to be refreshed.
