Thanked: 4Little tree, big smile
So I got in my new package from Whipped Dog and I find a blonde handle. I open the blade which is admittedly kinda rusty (not so much anymore mind you) I notice writing on the shank which is a pleasure because my last razor didn't have any. I flip the razor and check the cross section and notice the hollow grind. I check back to the lettering and notice a -gen peeking out from under a bit of rust. I look over to the other end and see a So-. I scrape with my thumbnail a little and the rust more or less completely comes off and I connect the dots to the see the Solingen.
I then notice above it the H. -oker and be a knife collecter for 10 years I say "no way" and then glance a little to the left and see a tree. I just might have squeeled like a little school girl and ran to make some lather.
It wound up being much sharper than my last WD razor as the nicks can attest to and Im going to have to get used to the flexibility since my Bowdins is a 1/4 wedge. But overall I am very happy having a boker. Im going to try to give it a little more TLC and hopefully the rest of the rust comes off (it's not as bad as my other but is more widespread. like this one was not oiled and the other had water left on it in a couple spots and was never wiped.

Thanked: 485Never had a Boker myself, in fact, having only had in total maybe 9 razors I've never had a LOT of razors...
Anyway, I must get one one day, they look really cool...Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?

I get the link "Bible and a rope" but guns, hmm.
I believe "Bible and a rope" comes from the old days when people honed with tape or something like that, I could have it all wrong!Hur Svenska stålet biter kom låt oss pröfva på.

Thanked: 4Well being the type of Christian that shaves with a straight razor results in collecting expensive Bibles. The bible in the pics is my R.L. Allan KJV Longprimer in goatskin. I love quality products and I believe that quality was typically better before conveinance got in the way of it, This is why I shave with a straight razor. I read the bible ALOT and was tired of having the covers literally fall off my bibles, therefore I started collecting quality bibles that didn't fall apart. Guns are along the same lines I collect quality firearms that while aren't neccessarily pretty are functional and work very well.
so that would be the correlation between guns and bibles and its also why Im on a straight razor forum.
