    Default Hot Towel Treatment

I've noticed that my face can handle towels, and water in general , significantly hotter than my hands. But just because my face can handle it doesn't mean it's actually good to do or that it improves the shave. What do the forum members think of this? ---warm, hot, hotter, hottest, face melter? (just kidding about the last one)

The hotter the better as far as I'm concerned. When it's hot enough that my hands can just barely stand it that's just about right for me - feels fine on the face.

I'm inthe same boat as you guys. Even if it's so hot I can hardly wring the towel out, it feels really good on my face.

I agree as well. I especially like it a little hotter in the winter months

Your hands have many more nerve receptors for temperature than your face so though your face can take the heat better than your hands if your hands are burning thats a warning sign you've reached a safe temerature limit.

thebigspendur, I enjoy the very hot towel also, but you've directed the thread in the right direction. I don't want to damage my face skin or cause over dryness or cause more razor irritation by using too hot a towel.

I find that if my face is at all tender or irritated from the previous day's shave, the hot towel brings the redness and irritation back. I do enjoy the warmth, though...

    Hi Guys

does anyone put their damp towels in the microwave to heat them? I'm sure it was here i read about it?!?!

Hot and steamy seems best for my face so far. My second shave ever with a straight was with warm water and it sucked!!

I think the microwave works pretty well, but you have to watch out for those hot spots.
