Thanked: 5Wet sponge to wipe the whiskers and lather during the shave.
Toilet paper to dry the str8 after the shave
I've start to wipe instead of rinse after I ding and chip my very first Sheffield Openshaw. Enough is enough.

wet sponge wipe to get lather and whiskers off, then "strop" on a micro fiber towel to dry the blade before continuing. when the shave is done I strop on the micro fiber, go over the blade with a tissue, strop 10 linen 10 leather, and use the tissue to hold the razor when placing it in its place to avoid leaving skin oils on it. used to get water spots before I started Microfiber stropping during the shave, but not anymore...

Thanked: 39most times whipe on two layers of good toilet paper, sometimes under the faucet (with the advantage of re-wettening the lather/face) , never shaking in the filled sink

I use a damp sponge to wipe suds off the blade during the shave ( it sits on the edge of the sink). Then a finish rinse under the faucet.. Then wipe it down with a towel and then a finish wipe with tissue paper...BUT NO WIPING BACK AND FORTH......JUST WIPE IN ONE DIRECTION... YOU WILL NOT SLICE YOUR FINGER IN HALF USING THE ONE DIRECTION METHOD.... Am I clear ????

Speaking from experience? If so I hope you are ok.
Don't know if it for better or worse but due to circumstance I don't have supplies of fresh towels each day or heaps of room to set up a shaving temple so I just strop the soap off on my arm (carefully, wouldn't want to go the wrong way) then give it a proper clean at the end on my hand towel. If this is really bad let me know as I am very new to this.Bread and water can so easily become tea and toast

If you stay with this hobby long enough.....the blade is just as sharp now as it was when you were a noob....in other words ...if your not paying attention...you will pay !!!!!

After watching "Chanuck" (I think) video with his 7 day TI set, two things I learnt from it and use myself. A sponge which I use to "wipe" using a strop motion the lather off between passes and other thing is to wipe my fingers on Alum to help with strching the skin.
I also wipe with a dry flannel and finnish with toilet paper to dry scales and blade.
