Thanked: 0Body shaving
Hy I am a man but i was thinking that this is the best place to ask this. I'm interested in shaving body hair with a DE.
How do I keep the hair softened for long enough to shave multiple areas of my body?Let's I take a shower and wash my body with a Salux washcloth. Right after I finish the shower I begin to shave a certain area with a safety razor and preshave oil and shaving cream applied with brush(armpits, groin, legs whatever). If I want to shave other parts do I have to use a warm wet towel on them or splash some warm water to soften the hairs or the shower that I took is enough?Last edited by Alex7; 06-10-2013 at 03:28 PM.

When I was spear fishing, regularly, I used to shave arms, legs, and chest. Okay, I guess that's just about everything. Made it easier (and less painful) to get in and out of my wetsuit. I used a de after my shower. I would just wet the extremity, lather it up, and shave it. It's easy once you get all the long hair off to maintain. You've got to be careful around your knees and elbows.
Now, as far as your area below the belt, I would not recommend a de. You really need a flat surface. I would personally get a disposable with a pivoting head. Ymmv.

Personally when I was powerlifting I would shave cause the wraps just tore the crap out of my hair. I used a DE or schick hydro. I would actually just use warm water and stand on a towel in front of the mirror, wet the snot out of the body part, lather, shave, then shower afterward. Never had a problem there, I would just rinse off and hit the NO NO bits w/ soap, b/c shaving soap and cream, are well...soap, so you would kinda be doing a traditional japanese bath of sorts I guess.
Mastering implies there is nothing more for you to learn of something... I prefer proficient enough to not totally screw it up.

Lather shave repeat in all areas you plan to shave. I have never had a problem with using my de on any part of my body. I have completely given up on any other type of razor except the staight.

Thanked: 375When I first started out with a DE I would shave in the shower, ( head and face ).........lather never had a chance of drying out and the results were pretty good. I don't do that anymore as I've added straight's to the routine, and couldn't see taking the risk.

Thanked: 480I don't care how fast and sure you are with a razor, doing an entire body will result in portions drying out before you finish. I can manage one leg at a time before needing to rewet. I will sit on the edge of the bathtub with a towel soaking in a basin of hot water, and reapply as needed. The splashing and dripping all go right down the tub, and when finished, I can just take a quick rinse.
