    Cool I survived!

Got my Dovo yesterday and just finished my first SR shave moments ago. Me not being much on listening to instruction, I shaved my whole face a came out with only one tiny nick! Used some Maggard pre shave oil, followed by some lather that left something to be desired( practice makes perfect, I know). Anyway, one time was all it took. Hooked on SR's!

Thanks to everyone for all the great help and opinions! Keep up the good work!

i think you probably need more water in your bowl when starting to lather in my opinion

Be forewarned, you'll pay the price for over-confidence!

Well done and good to be brave. But heed the advice above. Most times I would say respect is earned, but in this case, it's best to start with it. The second you stop playing it safe is the second before you start bleeding. What sucks is you watch yourself do it, then you think :<0)

Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

Yep, I went for the whole thing first time too. I paid the price in razor burn on my upper lip too! Congratulations! I found getting a good lather consistently to be a greater challenge. If you don't already have one, get one of the good soaps out there that have a good reputation on this site like Cella, MWF, or Tabac, etc that make great lathers.

It's not the first shave you have to worry about. It's the one in a week or so when you think you have it down and you let your concentration slip. Great job though and keep vigilant!
