So I'm not alone in my thoughts!

The hand/ eye co-ordination is a bit tricky, I feel I look like Marty Feldman, trying to look past my hand at the blade!!

As for being keen....and impatient, I sat here the other night after shaving 2 days in a row thinking I really enjoyed that shave but I wish I had waited another day....it was BBS.....but with nappy rash!!!

I won't give up....I love it! Never enjoyed shaving before....I don't get the full shave as I have a goatie but wish I could shave my head...but alas a couple of moles!!

As I've said before, this site as well, with all the knowledge and friendship that comes with it, adds to the pleasures while drawing noughts and crosses on your cheeks!

I may look up Gary, see where he is, I would be good to find a mentor close by!

    Thanks everyone!

i have heard nappy rash cream does work, bepathene or something i think its called. I have found cold water shaving to work well, prior to a shower, and i use glycerin as a pre shave as well as in my lather. It is comingng into the warm in London at the minute so the water won't be freezing, I used to live in stoke Newington, hoxton and Wandsworth bridge road before moving to oz, how about you?

I'm a southerner, Bromley, south London.
I use pre shave, and AS balms, it was down to the fact I was/am impatient and wanted to have another shave...

Bepanthen, it's analog to vitamin B if I remember correctly, and it is a good moisturizer.

Totally OT but did they manage to get the Biggin Hill Airshow back up and running? We were at one many years ago and really enjoyed our day there.

I'm 5 minutes from there, I could see most of the show from my garden! Not yet I think they've finally finished it! Shame! Every now and then you'll see the Lanc or the Spit...great sight!!!
How comes you left ol' blighty?

I also: have a shower after shaving, hop out dry off the face splash on some witch hazel, finish drying off then rub imon some proraso green, sort of mentholy, and quite soothing. Grew up in north west London, well pinner, met Ronnie barker in the barnardos buying ladies shoes "for his show". Have an aunt in croydon.

Born a Colonial, my old man left Blighty as a babe in arms when his folks left after WW I. I know what you mean by Lancs and Spits being a great sight and sound too. Growing up I watched a local fellow put his Spit through it's paces and it is now in the National Aviation Museum in Ottawa. We also get the occasional visit from the Andy Mynarski Lancaster too.

Mynarski Lanc about to touch down at Thunder Bay.

After we decided to have kids we weighed up whether to stay in UK, or move here where my wife's family are, whilst stokie was great for a couple with no kids, we didn't want to raise a family that close to the murder mile. We knew that we wanted to live out of London, either Kent or Gloucestershire, where I spent my teens, but financially it wouldn't be feasible. So we moved to perth about 6 1/2 yes ago, again a weigh up between my wifes family in Perth or friends in Melbourne, I think she thinks we made the wrong choice, but there you go.
