Aha! It was you who outbid me on the Jeanningros!

I'm very glad to see it's in capable, appreciative hands.

It's simply the loveliest 'disposable' razor that's been made.

Sorry for outbidding you, I just couldn't let this razor go even if it wasn't reasonable for me to buy it at the time..

I was surprised to win it at this price, it wasn't sold that expensive compared to it rarety.

I'll post a review in the shave of the day thread.

No, I recall it went for very little (especially if you weren't exchanging Euros for USD), but I was a bit broke when the auction ended and I couldn't put in much of a bid.

Getting to see your pictures of it is almost as good as having it myself -- I really wanted to see how it was assembled. It's wonderful that you've fixed it up to shave with!

And it shaves perfectly, I just tried it this morning : smooth and soft shave, and perfect BBS ! I posted in the SOTD thread.

Yes, I confess that I've passed a long time chasing for beautiful pieces, got lucky several times (like with my seven days set of Rodgers, which cost me about 100€, plus 80€ of sharpening), sold some pieces to buy new ones, and got slowly a better and better collection.

It took me three years to reach this result, so I'm quite optimist about the future ! ^^

Beautiful. I saw that on ebay but they didn't ship to the US - and the listing was ended early by the seller.

Ah, helps to have nice neighbors. The shape at the ends of the scales is really neat.
