    Default A new Wade and Butcher is born

    I had a GR stamped Wade and Butcher razor with trashed scales and a set of pressed horn scales with a trashed blade (and no maker stamp). So I put them together to get this:

    While not an original pairing, at least they're contemporary. In my mind the result is better than each on its own.

    That's an old razor with a lot of history behind her, someday I will find one like it.

    Those are really cool scales.

    Did you do any cleaning or try to brighten them?
    If you don't care where you are, you are not lost.

    Just a soak in neatsfoot oil.

    Beautiful! Forgive me, but the scales almost look upside down as compared to most? I suppose an early style!
