Hi, my name is Michael, i live in germany and so i`m active in the german straight razor forums for quite a while. A few days before, i got this 7 day set und i think, it`s worth showing it in SRP. The razors were sold on a small "flea market" (hope this word really exists in english ) some miles south of Paris/France. "Wednesday" and "saturday" are 78, all others 77, which were produced by Puma between 1930 and 1940, as far as i know. If there are any questions about this set, please feel free to contact me. And sorry for my bad english.

    greetings from germany
    Michael

Welcome to SRP. Thanks for sharing your great find with us. Yes, flea markets are part of the English language but seldom is such a lovely jewel to be found at ours.

thats an illusion, i can`t maintain for some time

i bought the set from an older french lady, who deals with antiques. Asking her about any history of the 7 day set, she told me about the flea market and that was all, she could say. I had to take decission to buy seeing only a few rather bad pictures and was really nervous up to the moment, i hold the blades in my hands and could see, none is damaged.
if the set came to france during ww2, when Paris was occupied by german troups, or later, is not sure. Remarquable may be the old german word "Sonnabend" for saturday, today this day is called "Samstag".

    Unikat

When was the change from Sonnabend to Samstag made? Just curious as I a kid I was taught Sonnabend for Saturday by my Mother.

not easy to say, it may vary from region to region; in the northern and eastern german regions, its used up today in spoken word. I know "Sonnabend" mainly from my grandparents or old song text.
