Thats what i meant, many french Razors are a bit thicker, in my Opinion they shave a bit softer than very thin Razors through heavier Beards, maybe it has something to do with the "Pour Barbe Dures - For Heavy Beards" Slogan that could be seen on myn french Razors.
I guess that the Scales are some kind of Horn, i have some Razors with similar scales too and it seems like a natural Material,
i cant varify my thesis but for me it seems as if the Horn Material was impregnated/stabelized with something, or hot pressed so that it has been nearly molten.
Its a completly different kind of Material instead of that kind of Horn i know from Sheffield Straights but i cant fight my impression that it is Horn.
