Early 1800s French 7 day set
Well this is my new crown jewel of the collection. Just got it in today. Sold a huge pile of razors to get funding for this one, but absolutely worth it. I haven't seen a changeable set with this much detail - the tang is etched all around, and the tail is a very unusual shape. The pictures speak for themselves...

That is sweet. I am in awe, but not jealous in the least.
I feel the right man has been charged with their preservation.
Beautifull thing, that set! Enjoy!!"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.

One thing I saw is how much detail there is in the notches to not only look awesome, but to make the blades interlock into the box. Extreme amount of craftmanship here.
This belonged to a very rich man!"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."

Resto will be limited to removing surface oxidation and dirt on the blades with polish, but mostly focused on the box. I'm going to protect the wood, glue cracks, rebuilt the missing escutcheon plate on top, and clean all the dirt out. It's a museum quality historical piece, and I wouldn't want to do more than that.
