ScienceGuy's Collection
Seems like there's enough interest recently to just collect a bunch of my more interesting stuff in a single post. Most of this stuff a lot of you have seen already, but it's fresh pictures, so here ya go.
Some sets. LeCoultre, Gronstrand, Pradier 7-day.
Some unusual blades awaiting scales. Top to bottom: Joseph Elliot VR Concave, W. Greaves and Sons with engraved spine, D. Klauberg (early 1800s American), Wade and Butcher Patent Tempered Steel, and Wm. Harrison.
The Wade and Butcher mark is stamped on the top of the spine, not on the tang.
Close up.
Cardier A Cambrai and John Elliot in ivory.
Engraving on the John Elliot.

William Warburton c. 1760-80, unknown, and Norris.
Close up. Interesting use of a Lisbon stamp, most common from a different Warburton later.
Big blades. 9/8 Jonathan Crookes FBU, 9/8 WB Celebrated FBU, 19/16 Wostenholm.
S.F. Foster Head-Quarters, early 1800s 8/8. Personally rescaled.
Close up. The pile side is stamped with 'Montreal'.

Original finish (not quite NOS) group: WB Gentlemens Use, J. Nowill and Sons, C & J Morton Cheapside.
Turtle group. AUX 15-20, unknown, Harwood & Co, Millikin Dublin with silver cap, Heljestrand MK31s. Interesting copper collars on the AUX.
Close up.
Some unusual Brits. T Morgan (probably traced back to Robert Doyle), and Critchfield.
Again, copper collars here, unusual for an English razor.

Thanked: 1184That is a nice collection you have got there. I love those older razors. If I wasn't daffy I would be after that type.
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

Joseph Smith & Son from Lummus' collection.
Rayson Warranted, interesting early molded motifs.
Marshes and Shepherd Platina Steel razor. I like to think that this is part of the Faraday experiments, but I think that's wishful thinking. More realistically it is probably just a capitalization on the new buzzword.
W. Greaves and Sons brass frameback. The only one this early I've seen. 1820s.
Some pressed horn. Yes, the scales on the bottom one are supposed to be curved like that. Full disclosure: this was a marriage from a set of scales and a free blade I had. This is not original.

Some other toiletry equipment. Some kind of scraper and a shoehorn.
One of the few Edward Barnes I've come across.
A Clark and Hall with inlaid brass.
That's it for now. More coming later...

Great looking collection! My only question is, are you planning on restoring the steel of these razors to their original state?
