Here is a Torrey I recently found with a similar spine.
The box says the razor was used by (President) T. Roosevelt in the (Dekota Terrority) Bad Lands, Madora 1883-4
I was told the spine held an optional comb for cutting hair.

Notice the the wider than normal wedge to accomodate the guard.
