Thanked: 3223New SE and TTO DE
Got these the other day. The first is a Darwin and I had a good time honing the chips out I can tell you. Feels like it is ready to go now after attempt #2 at honing.
The other is a gold Gillette TTO Tech from 1952 (Milord). Fair shape and don't expect any problems as a regular tech is a fairly mild shave.

Thanked: 3223Never saw a Darwin in the flesh before either till the other day. Got a thing for odd ducks and the Darwin surely qualifies on that account. First official shave in the morning.

Thanked: 3223Finally got a chance to shave with the Gillette TTO Tech Milord and can say it shaves like the 3 piece Techs. That is to say it gives a nice smooth shave and is not overly aggressive. Anyone looking for a DE to learn on can't go far wrong with a Gillette with a Tech head. They can be real bargains if you take your time and look around a little. The knurling on the Tech TTO is very good at providing a secure grip too. I might even consider having the old girl re plated as she is so nice and well behaved.
