Thanked: 6Both my Griffin and my Allan Arthur were advertised truthfully as being magnetic. Tough to hone without demagnetizing the blade, to say the least...

Thanked: 884Scales on the Griffin might be hard rubber. It oxidizes and turns ugly and dull. I've polished several back to shiny black with nothing more that Mother's Mag and Aluminum polish.

Thanked: 6I usually hit scales with a quick buff of metal polish but I had no clue what these were and I could just see in my mind's eye the scales melting away with a puff of smoke and the voice of McBain in the background going: "Ze goggles! Zey do nassing!"
