High quality damascus steel is very expensive, i would question the origin of this razor (Pakistan). That said it might be more usefull as a letter opening device...

Martin speaks the truth. These things are all over ebay. There have been many discussions and tests with similar negative results .
That being said, you may well have not found a razor yet.

Type in "razors to avoid" in the search box above. Best tool on here to protect new guys from being ripped off. The lite line under the very upper part of the spine; look how it's wavy and larger in one area than the other. Usually means 1. the spine is warped or 2. the grinding was horribly done.

Mastering implies there is nothing more for you to learn of something... I prefer proficient enough to not totally screw it up.

Yes, also referred to as the, "Razor Shaped Object", or, "RSO", often found lurking on E-Bay, hidden amongst the authentic members of the species.

You may also want to send that razor to one of the honemasters to inspect to see if you indeed did get ripped off or not . In the world of wet shaving when you're new, ebay and amazon should be the last places to look for items until experience has been acquired.
