GSSIXGUN will probably take some nice photos if I had to guess. I think the heyday of the real giants were 1860s-1870s, though someone can correct me on that if I am off. I think this is most likely this blade's 2nd restoration in its life. I bought it from the estate of a man who had a very serious collection. It was one of his only sheffields, but he sure made it count. The rest was a tour de force of german blades of every make imaginable. It was pretty astonishing to see so many fragile, ornate celluloid german scales I have only seen ruined looking damn near NOS. I refrained and went all out on this though.

Actually, blade profiles like this allow for a lot of finesse with how you approach your face. I have some early 1800s blades as well as french framebacks with similar shape and I enjoy it.

IDK if it is in this thread or not, but the layout is going to be feathered horn, nickel silver pins stacked, nickel silver wedge and a satin finish. I thought of going totally old school on it with resto and reinstating a lead wedge, but since this was already robbed of the original scales long ago, I figured a mix of old and new would be a nice way to go.
