    In the end I chose the stainless steel pins, and to keep the natural bone. It's a lovely rich colour anyway. Very happy with the end result- will take better lit (not cellphone) pictures soon and post in a separate thread but here are the results to close off the above discussion. Thanks all.

    The pins match the blade the wedge matches the bone. It all blends color nice.
    Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.
