On the way from Keflavik Airport, in the beautiful country of Iceland - my daughter is coming home, alas, with no straight razors for her dear old Pa....she will be arriving at noon today, but had to wake me at this hour because she forget her plane reservation number...:deal:
I'm waiting on these three to come in I promise to put up a few photo's once they arrive. Vintage Japanese NOS King Pelican a Shavemac two band silvertip 26mm fan with a 48mm loft and a custom HARRYWALLY brush Barber style with a two band finest also with a 26mm fan and a 48mm loft.

Today it arrived and the problems are gone! Very nice work! Looks much the same but...Oh My! I didn't expect perfection but I got close to it.:dropjaw: The corrosion was almost completely removed before plating and it was given a nice even finish all around.

Cheers.
A bunch of Shokwood Blanks, Badger Knots
Today arrived this nice Veritable Vincent Wedge in 6/8".
Usually i like a bit of Rat Look but these Scales are really to damaged, not the search for original or similar scales that fit the blade starts, the blade is a bit shorter than the other french wedges i have, i guess it will take a while until i can make it shave ready :-(

[QUOTE=Rockabillyhelge;1503348]Today arrived this nice Veritable Vincent Wedge in 6/8".

If you can make you some scales, you should be able to make some pretty quick. I aways keep black horn, streaked horn, honey horn, rams horn, bleached white bone & some cocobolo wood on hand for making scales so I'm good to go for awhile! I also have some jade green G-10 but I haven't tried that yet!
I guess making scales for the Vincent is a bigger problem, the Original Scales are only sawed and a bit grinded at the Corners, i dont have horn and im looking for some at the moment :-)
This is for bleached white bone:
Bleached Bone Scales 6€ x 1 1 2€ x 3 8€ Pair Knife Making Slabs 5404 206 204 | eBay
And this is for Buffalo Horn, usually black:
Buffalo Horn Scales 6€ x 1 1 2€ x 3 8€ Pair 5404 205 204 | eBay
I wouldn't know what is available over there in Germany.
I just finished these......................
It was hard holding them up to the light with a steady hand.
I get all my horn blanks from mygann on ebay. Great quality and great seller. Usually one blank cut in half makes one set of scales.
@engine: Thank you for the Links! Decided a few Hours ago to make them myself, found 2mm thick Plates of Black or transparent Horn in a Germany Medieval-Cosplay Shop but the Thing that persuaded me to give it a try was that i found a mechanical fret saw in my grandfathers workshop :-D
Tomorrow or maybe Friday i will overtake the saw and take some practise with it and i guess (when the shop deliveres the horn fast) next week the Scales will be Ready to use :-)
Is that possible?? I seem to have read not to lap Barber Hones on this site. Or do you lap and then sand/polish them back to original?
I lapped a Raven Barber hone and it didnt like it so well. ended up taking 3K grit paper to sweeten her back up. Just asking.
A vintage Carborundum Razor 103 hone, some needed bevel setting help and for some razors that have some small chips or are just plain stubborn!
I have a Griffen Carbo Magnetic on the way, I have heard lots of great things about them!
I have a jar of Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet on the way. Its not for me. My brother's b-day is this month. And although he's not a wet shaver (DE or SR), he does like quality lather. He tried the SR about seven years ago but gave up on it. I doubt his razor was ever up to snuff in the first place so it probably made for a lousy experience. But I don't think he really cares much about it beyond a luxury lather.
Stirling soaps
I have one of these coming:

rosborn, I have these coming:
Those are both beautiful razor's but I love the Ralf Aust best. I already have 2-3 Boker King Cutter's which are excellent pieces so I have nothing against them. I really love that R.A. though......................
