Made a similar looking shaving brush out of Paduak - Very nice looking brush!
A boat load of Knots & Razors - I might be exaggerating a little....
Ed Pinaud Eau De Quinine
Apparently more people use this as an aftershave/cologne than as a hair tonic !!

Bills, bills & more bills & not dollar bills!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Chris, I'm not whining or crying "oh poor me" because it's a way of life! We all get 'em & it's a never ending cycle!
More power to ya getting "A boat load of Knots & Razors".:beer1:
Yeah, hope you don't think I was poking fun at you? Currently I'm in the process of losing my job because of a corporate downsize.
But lucky me I've found new employment that will pay me less than what I made 14 yrs ago, YAY!. I'll call it reverse financial progress. WINNING!!!! But seriously I do feel lucky to have gotten this new job!
And yes I am whining....in 23 yrs I've called off work once, never late, work O.T when asked, and now I get to watch others that do screw up and call off , get to keep their jobs/ Does this make any sense? uh...no it doesn't. :beer1:
I'm waiting on this very rare vintage Feather single edge razor to come in from Japan, looks to be in super condition including case and original pack of injector blades.

The other Joseph Wostenholm EBRO I have takes such a fine edge I had to try another. I find them better that the George in this regard.
Forgot to post a pic...first razor other than a W&B I'll have with these markings:

The dirt and crud will come off nicely, I've had some razor's that looked a lot worse come out smokin' hot, if the etchings are anything like the W&B's they will be fine. For me, first I've seen other than a W&B with those markings...but the lovely patina may have to stay...I've always wondered what it would be like to host some Bubonic Plague or an old case of Mariner's VD...:o
Mike I have a George Wostenholm EBRO & an Alfred Williams EBRO. Here's the Alfred Williams with my W&B which are both similar. The Alfred Williams says "Lather Well, You'll Shave Better". The W&B says "You Lather Well, I'll Shave Well". They are both post 1891 so I suspect they were made around the time period & were in competition with each other:
That makes as good a reason as any for the markings. Funny how it spans makers.
Thx.
Interesting, I've got one that's marked, "ECHO", a James Barlow razor.

[QUOTE=Phrank;1511236]Interesting, I've got one that's marked, "ECHO", a James Barlow razor.
Wow, another ECHO. I wonder how many makers used that? And it's a 3 pin too but the scales don't look original so someone might have added that.
Great score Andrew. I only have 2-3 James Barlow. They aren't as plentiful as others.
I know I have hardly any posts here at all. Actually it's my first. But I finally have time to chime in. For Father's Day I just ordered up a Hart Steel 6/8 Square Point in Polished with Cocobolo Scales. I'm very curious how it shaves, since I have very coarse facial hair. It takes my Feather AC DX to do the job over my Dovo Full Hollow Ground. Same goes for my Dylan Farnham with it's full ground. I think they flext too much. Plus my DF stone age razor is not easy to hold and maneuver with. So I kept hearing great things on Hart Steel. So I'm giving it a try. Obviously I can't compare cutting to a Feather, but as far as a traditional shave, I need a good razor to glide better than my Dovo with the coarse hair. Pretty excited to try it.
I have the same blade with mat finish and shaves well on my very thick mustache and chin whiskers, once I got it honed. I find it gets water stains easily so take care to dry it well and oil between uses but that could just be the mat finish. I also muted the point as it had cut me badly a couple of times.
I'm actually planning to mildly mute the point as well. The round point hart was too round for my taste. Muting it just enough to not nick as easily. Got the polished blade cause I polish all my knives and everything I can to be like a mirror. Just an enjoyment of mine.
Just cleared customs so I should have it by Wednesday or Thursday.

For what it's worth I have to add extra lather
I'm waiting on my very first stainless steel razor, a Vintage NOS ED Wusthof Trident Barber's King full hollow 13/16.
Here we have two from the seller I will put a few more when the razor comes in Andrew I've never seen this razor before I've seen and owned Barber's King razors but not a stainless steel Barber's King.

Wow - never seen a Wustof like that one...superb! We have somewhat different tastes in razors, but I always love seeing what you post, you've got me to try some razor's outside my box a few times. I'll wait to hear your report on this one and then add yet another razor to my list of Celticcursader inspired razors. Great find!
A blue green thuringian that can't get here fast enough from Deutschland.
