It's all moot anyway. I had a $10.00 bid on a Wade and Butcher that ended up selling for $25.00, so all is well. Lesson learned (study the pictures very hard before hitting the bid button).
That's the way I feel, bidding is a contract, withdrawing because you've gone flaky on the deal is poor sportsmanship in my book. If you genuinely over bid then that's a different story. I know that's how I would feel in the sellers position too. Besides I would bet ebay keep an eye on this sort of activity anyway.Quote:

I haven't done it but once or twice. It was usually something when making a bid, I accidentally hit the key one too many times & overbid. The other time I wrote the seller asking them to remove my bid when I barely noticed a crack in a blade after I put my bid in & they happily did & was very nice about it because even they didn't realize there was a crack in it either. Ebay does monitor those things from what I've read & they will suspend your account for a period of time which has never happened to me. I have 3612 100% positive feedback. You DO have the decision to do so if needed as long as you don't make a habit of it. I have had people ask me to remove a bid due to similar issues & I happily did. I understand that things do happen but it is good to be understanding because most people have been understanding to me if I ever had an issue with something. I understand when these things happen so I return favors when need be. I do understand what you are saying though.Quote:
