    Default Droescher, Blue Diamond

Another project , Not sure I want to re-blue till Celluloid starts to break down or my skill set goes up. Legend has it that originally entire blade was blued. Me, I am happy with clean metal and a close shave. What do you think??

A super brand IMO. The "BlackSmith" line is my favorite but I like yours as well very much! Enjoy!

That is a nice looking razor, sir! Much too nice for slicing tomatoes.
    What size is it?

Definitely too nice for tomatoes, I didn't know if the bluing would be discernible . Truth is until you asked I never measured it . It is 5/8 ths.

That looks to be in very good condition and should be a great shaver. I don't have a Blue Diamond but have a Blue Wonder which might be related by maker. On the Blue Wonder the tang and spine are blued so I would do some research if you are considering re doing the old bluing.

Maybe more myth than legend I've only seen SRD razors with blued tangs & spines, never the whole razor.

Much appreciated. I only have seen one other. Here in our database. Blade spine, tang not well visualized in single image. It is a great shaver and I value that most. Based on your years here and posts your input holds great weight IMHO. Thank-you for your insight on this particular blade. Cleaning up another Droescher called an 18K will post soon. Would like your input on that when its ready.

SRD was an importer not a manufacturer. If you look at the show side tang stamping the symbol between the words Blue Diamond appears to be the trade mark of Grah & Plühmacher. Here are some photos of Grah & Plühmacher razors Google Translate The 11th post gives an idea of the bluing.

that is something I have never seen. I get an idea of blueing . But if SRD was an importer help me understand what this is??

I am not disagreeing asking for clarification if possible. based on the tang is it possible that SRD was both a manufacture and an importer??

    Very nice clean up
I don't think the blue wonder is related to this
I have a couple of blades that had blued tang & spine but no sign of bluing on the blade either
    Saved,
    to shave another day.
