here is the tally ho i found, someone did some heavy sanding/grinding on the blade so i hope it sands out okay. Do the scales look like horn ? i plan on soaking them in neetsfoot and seeing if they can be saved.

not sure why the extra attachment of the wosty. but does the red rust on the henckles look like cell rot? it's on the top of the blade instead of where the scales were. don't know if they used celluloid or not.

The scales on the Tally Ho do look like the classic honey horn. I've had a lot of blades with the same scales. Very nice find. Tally ho is on my list of, must have.

Edit. Now that I look again, maybe not honey horn. But still horn.

They are horn scales on the Fenney. Don't have a clue what is on top of the Henckles but as far as I know they didn't have cell rot problems.

The rust pattern on the Henckels is typical of cell rot. The scales don't look to be the type to cause that problem. It probably happened because the razor was close proximity to another razor or pocket knife that had scales that were gassing. I've seen stuff like that before when dealers throw everything in one enclosed case and have no idea about what to look for. Appears to be on the upper part of the blade and not near the edge. Other than looking as it does, should be a solid razor.

Agree on the horn scales on the Tally Ho. They look salvageable.

Try some 0000 steel wool on the red rust & see if that takes care of it plus some chrome polish.

hit the henckles with some mothers polish and the rust came off nicely. no traces of pits at all. not sure if i can save the horn scales i've soaked them in neetsfoot and am in the process of cleaning them up. The blade still has some deep scratches from the previous owners "cleaning' attempts. i'm afraid they are beyond my hand sanding equipment. Any suggestions?

Cool, I use Mother's Chrome polish & Maas also. Good thing you didn't need the steel wool but if so, the finest, 0000 is the one to use.
