You are in AU, so is Glen going to get in the middle of this potential 'return' or is Glen going to ship it to YOU in AU so you can ship it back to the seller, wherever he may be? (assuming not AU). Glen is a lot of things to a lot of people, but somehow I don't think handling your ebay returns is in his job description. 14 day money back, you won't make it and will be out too much dough. Bet it does not go back. JMO
Thanks for your comment, I guess I hadn't considered that Glen may feel like he's stuck in the middle. I have emailed him and told him that I don't want him to feel stuck in the middle, and at his choice after evaluating the razor, can ship back to me or back to the seller on my behalf and its totally up to him. Hopefully it won't come to that, Glen's good at what he does - he's done 6 for me already (great job) and currently has another 4 he's working on, so I trust his ability to set a razor right if its at all possible.

I think the razor itself is in good condition however you'll be dealing with excessive hone wear resulting in a tapered spine and no way for a true re-grind without losing the engraving. The hone wear aside I think it'll clean just up fine.

Well, I truly hope it works out. Fingers crossed now!

    Ditto. Good luck!

Looks like excessive hone wear at the toe but you can still use it for your lifetime.

I've got some with wear like that, I didn't set out to buy 'em that way. They came in with purchases of several other razors and the price was right, so it wasn't a deal killer for me.

Tape the spine and hone it. It'll still shave like it was meant to.

    S'truth.

When a razor's got that many miles on it, you'd be surprised the engine doesn't even rattle when you start it.

personally I don't see that you have any leg to stand on for a return claim Andrew,
unless the blade is cracked that can't be seen in the pics and isn't stated,
the photos clearly show the excessive wear & you can just make out the chip in the toe also.
so to the uninitiated it is in good condition, since it has a full edge & is shinny still to boot

I have a blade with similar wear I got with another str8 and a box that I really wanted, I wouldn't even think about returning it since it matched the photos on the listing
and i knew what it was when I bid

    Saved,
    to shave another day.

I wouldn't have bothered with it to be honest.
It's like pumping steroids and performance enhancers into a 60 year old sprinter and hoping for gold in the Olympics.
Sure, he will regain a bit of oomph in his bones, but he will still loose, and look silly while doing so.
That razor has fulfilled his role, time for others to shine.

All that said, Glen can do magic on old beaters like this and has proven me wrong before!

As far as shipping it to Glen, and if it didn't work out, Glen returning it to the seller ........ IME the seller must ship to the buyer's confirmed paypal address, have tracking to prove delivery. Otherwise he has no leg to stand on if there is a dispute.

The buyer is in the same boat as far as returning it to the seller's confirmed paypal address or no backing from ebay/paypal. So if the seller has any sense he won't ship it to anyone but the buyer. Just my 2 bits.
