Ok here what worked for me with the Corticule. Keep in mind starting with a slurry and working toward just water. Still doing pyramids.
I use my stone in a verticle position. up and down. 12 to 6 o clock.Half way through a set, when I am finishing I actually spin, invert ,6 goes to 12 o clock the stone only, and continue honing. It makes sense to my brain because its a natural and not perfect even distribution of corti within the rock.
The delicateness of the blade made me really slow down and I actually started to feel that thing people talk about. The blade sucking into the stone, the proper amount of torque on the cutting edge, that part I could really feel on the delicate blade.
A few more strokes I find than other metals but I hone to thumbpad test. Hope this makes sense and/or helps.
