    Actually, someone solved that mystery for me.
    "The "Perle de France" is the high-end Fontenille. Their answer to LeGrelot 'Masque de fer'." It is a rebranded Fontenille.

    Very similar to my two Freidel Kochs from a 7 day set.

    I recall seeing a scorpion 7 day set once that was a bit similar, but not quite. I can only venture a guess that this motif and similar ones were the trend for the ultra premium model any company was offering at the time. It's not in the immediate resto pipeline, but this cleaned up, the gold wash redone to be like new and real MOP scales would be stunning. So would ivory for that matter, but ivory really isn't my bag.
