An Ivory Pair
I bought these from another member here at SRP (Silver4) a few weeks ago and they are my ideal razors. Excellent shape, Ivory scales, between 11/16 and 13/16, and Sheffield steel. After working them on the Guangxi stone that I love they took an edge like no other and are smoooooth and sharp as hell. I had to work on them a little bit but it was worth it in the end. The Hennig is a shoulder-less razor and the Harrop has a faceted spine which I found unusual but maybe some of you out there have seen that before. Either way I love the looks of them both. They are not an original "set" but have been pieced together so I would love to find a match for either or both someday but am just as happy shaving with them daily "as is".
The only thing is that I don't have much information on them. Zak and Martin gave me much more than I was able to find on the web. Evidently Tom Harrop was a straight razor manufacturer between 1895-1905 and Hennig was either a jeweler or a corner store. I reached out to Neil too and expect to hear from him soon but I would love to have more information on these. Until them I will be using them daily. Thanks for looking and thanks in advance for any info you may have on them. What a curse be a dull razor; what a prideful comfort a sharp one

Beautiful pieces of HISTORY there! Alternating between the two in a regimen of minimalist shaving will really unlock your highest level of traditional wet shaving satisfaction. They truly are all your need to enjoy a wonderful "Gentlemen's Set".

Well I actually got a hold of ihennig the jewelry company and they confirmed that this blade is NOT related to their company so it must have been the corner store. I also found an old rusted and pitted Tom Harrop on eBay that I am in the process of restoring so I will have a matching set (if it all goes well).

Thanked: 4826I have quite a few pairs of razors. To find a box in such condition is as good of a score as the razors themselves. A truly matched pair in a pristine box is a grand thing.

Great score & excellent pieces of history. If only they could talk. I love ivory scales & I have quite a few razors in very scales. I looked those names up in my references but couldn't find enough information on them. My Goins Encyclopedia just said T. Harrop, Cutler Sheffield. I have quite a few books on Straight Razors but am always on the lookout for more. I have both of the Guangxi but haven't used them yet. I remember I had an issue about them being from China & I think you laughed at me but I had it coming. At the time, I didn't know they were a natural. There was an issue about some members said the one from Woodcraft wasn't as good as the one from Poland on the bay. My anxiety had kicked in that day! I love my straight razors & have several hundred & quite a few of them are in my collection while quite a few need to be honed & sold on the bay. I hope you & your family have a great Thanksgiving!

The Henning & Co. is Wednesday of a seven blade set. Both of these good-looking razors are outstanding shavers. Am not able to find much information about either the Henning & Co. or the Tom Harrop. So if you know something, please share it with me.
Proper prior planning prevents piss poor performance.

Thanked: 315Can't add much to what has been said. Beautiful razors by anyone's standards!
Can you get any pictures showing the lines in the ivory? I would really like to see that.
