Thanks Dave. I really don't display razors but they go into a couple of cutlery boxes/chests that I converted to hold them. Sorta out of sight out of mind idea.

Just finished honing the Emil Janssen and surprise it turns out to be a bellied hollow. I wonder if Hamburg Ring grind refers to a bellied grind?

I have done that with something wedged in the scales to hold it where I want it or using slight pressure with my fingers to keep moving it till I get it the way I want it. Once it is where it needs to be can place a ice pack on it to stiffen the scales again. Sometimes you might have to do it a few times to get it perfect, but other than removing the scales to do it I find it safer than sticking them in hot/boiling water.
Thanks for the suggestion to try a hair dryer and ice pack to correct the warp. I tried it today and believe I got the scale straightened out. Doesn't look and feel like the blade is hitting the one scale anymore.

Wouldn't be afraid of another Emil Janssen razor. It took as nice an edge and shaved as smooth as the Kama. Both seem sold vintage brand razors.

    Bob,

Good show. I love my Kama; it's a sweet shaver. I had an Emil Jansen once upon a time, too, but sold it. Ah, how we do some stupid things.

Thanks, the Kama is a looker for sure. Looks aside they are pretty well neck in neck in the quality of the actual shave. Both razors are excellent performing shavers for me.
