Alps straight razor-Solingen
I recently got this Alps straight razor which has a very unique barber's notch. I guess that's a barber's notch! The blade needs a little attention but other than that, it is a nice piece. I'm not too crazy about the pins so when I do some work on the blade, I will change the pins unless I rework the blade w/o taking it apart. This is probably one of the worst looking razors I've ever shown but with a little work it will look much better. I could not find any history on it, so any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanked: 884Somehow, I don't think that is a barber's notch.
Interesting old razor. Has it been buffed?Member Tonkin Gulf Yacht Club, participant SE Asia War Games 1972-1973. The oath I swore has no statute of limitation.

Thanked: 3228Is the blade narrower at the toe than at the heel? The toe does look a bit odd. How about the cutting length of the blade, is it shorter than normal?
