Thanked: 169Very cool Joseph Rodgers
I have been on a dry spell finding cool wedges so I'm happy to have bought this. Needs help to get going, but so much potential. Nobody managed to butcher this guy on the stones which is awesome. It's almost a blank canvas on that end.

Love the point on that one. Good catch.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Thanked: 4828Now there is a nice piece to start with. You should be able to get that clean and sharp without too much hassle

Thanked: 169Yep, if you're going to buy a rusty blade, this is a slam dunk as far as a good one for upside. It's meaty, the worst of it is away form the edge, which is meaty anyway, The scales are intact, And what is there seems rather diffuse apart form a couple of spots. When the messiest bit is the tail you are doing well.

Thanked: 169Needed to buy a new drill bit to liberate it from the scales. Finally got at it.

Thanked: 169No, the grind is symmetrical actually. Anyway, I steamed the scales and carefully tweaked them in order to correct a warp an achieve good clearances and then repinned it all. Just needs to be honed.
