The Thuringians are cutting stones and a bit of time will bring a blade back quickly to water flowing over the edge and a stropping on leather and you are home...

I'm with Richard on this. My favorite Escher (out of many I have) is my Blue/Green banded 'Barber's Gem'. If you really want to see what a nice Escher will do (IMO of course!) bevel set a razor with your 1K, and then go right to the Escher with slurry diluting along the way to finish. Smooth as silk edges!

it appears i got lucky in finding a blue/green ... i know i got a razor from JimmyHAD a while back that came off of one of his escher stones and it is the shave and feel that i judge all of my personal honed razors by !! it is amazing !! of course i cant compare to the edge it has with my own skill set (yet)and settle for what i can efficiently get and strive for the results of that razor !! i had a busy break where i had not a moment to touch a hone but i will soon have a well collected arsenal to jump back into now that i have time !!
