Thanked: 49two fatboys and a slim
Received these razors from the bay this week. The two fatboys are in excellent condition and function very well. I will shave with one of them tonight. Everything works on the slim except the adjustment knob turns and clicks, but does not adjust. I've tried some of the things mentioned in threads and videos, but no joy.

Is the adjuster plate stuck?
The older I get the more I realize how little I actually know.

For a stuck adjuster plate it can take many long soaks. A bit of dish soap can help a lot, and an ultra sonic cleaner speeds it up quite a bit. A warning about really long soak times and the ultrasonic, it cans cause the paint in the numbers to loosen and fall out.

Bring home some pipe cleaners to get between the plate and the head and also through the bar slots.
A bit of CLR or Vinegar soak for a couple minutes and the pipe cleaner trick has loosened every one I have tried.
Long soak remive paint from the numerals after a few minutes.
