If you are regularly catching blades on your buffer wheel, the solution is not to wrap the pedestal with a blanket. Instead you should focus on changing your techinique so that you are not having this problem in the first place.

Very true! It was just a crazy thought but not a definite one. I just had bad luck, that's all. I have polished quire a few blades with it but it just happened to be my luck I ruined three W & B blades with it! I've had a lot better luck with my Dremel & they can be dangerous as well. If I ever use it again for a blade I will just be more cautious.
