Thanked: 4830There have been a few threads on redoing heels on blades with cracks. It is kind of an advanced project though and if your join date is an indication of your level of experience you might want to backbench that project for a while.

Thanked: 3Yea, I've only been working with straights for a few months so I had thought I should send this one out with it being a Filarmonica. Already worked over a Boker with a crack and a chip, didn't turn out as I had hoped, but I can shave with it.

I scored a Wade & Butcher frame back with a chip in the heel & I ground it out & honed it. Sold it for a lot more than what I paid.
