Thanked: 3Mail call
Mail Call. Top is a "Vintage Notched Torrey" according to the seller, lol. From the Torrey Razor Co, Worcester, Mass. Bottom one is a Filarmonica 13 G Doble Temple Straight Razor Jose Monserrat Pou. Sad thing is that the Filarmonica has a crack in the blade about 1/8" long and about 1/4" or so from the heel. Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix the Filarmonica without ruining it?

Thanked: 4827There have been a few threads on redoing heels on blades with cracks. It is kind of an advanced project though and if your join date is an indication of your level of experience you might want to backbench that project for a while.

Thanked: 3Yea, I've only been working with straights for a few months so I had thought I should send this one out with it being a Filarmonica. Already worked over a Boker with a crack and a chip, didn't turn out as I had hoped, but I can shave with it.

I scored a Wade & Butcher frame back with a chip in the heel & I ground it out & honed it. Sold it for a lot more than what I paid.
