Default Wilkinson Sword Seven Day Set

A recent acquisition and proof that RAD is not restricted to straight. It is completely NOS. You can see in the pictures that the blades are still covered in grease and the strop is still in it's original packing.

Beautiful - think that may be the second one I've ever seen still with the wrapper on the strop - awesome.

How are the blades for sharpness? Do they need to be honed?

The blades are razor sharp. pun intended. They don't appear to need to be sharpened. Other than take everything out of the box to give it a look see and take some picture I haven't done anything with it. I am curious if anyone has shaved with one. I know my Henckels Rapide shaves incredibly well.

    Cool set, Shaun!
Are you going to keep it as is or use it some?

I can't bring myself to try and hone one of the blades on mine...I know BobH has had some success with his, but they look like they would be very cool to use.

Right now I am trying to organize and refine or define my collection, so I don't really have time to shave with it so they will remain as is for now. Perhaps in the future a decision will be made, right now it will stay NOS as a default not a plan.

Raol was honing some up. He said it was really easy, but I have not gotten the shave report yet. The Rapide has a handle for holding the blades so it was easy these are quite a bit smaller and may be hard for people with big fingers.

NOS stuff always catches my eye and sometimes makes the trigger finger itch. That is a great set. Now the conundrum of , use or not use. I think I would be tempted to try that 1.
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

Yes, and a lot better than I would have expected. Blade exposure on some of them is adjustable. Shaving...remember blade angle to face is important just like a straight.
Have fun they are really nice shavers!
