Thanked: 2There is maybe a /33nd to give. Looking like a scale replacement or maybe cut it into a s shape on the blade side to give it room to close and another pin near the base of the blade to keep it from going to far?

So what would be helpful is pictures. lengthwise pic of blade and scale. Picture of point of impingement. Lets see what we are working with in pictures. As for scales we have them laying around and or you can build a set easy. All that is spoken about in a PM. Lets see pictures first and then we can decide which direction you want to go.
we really need to see total blade and scales toe to heel. Cant fix it if we dont know what all is involved.Last edited by ultrasoundguy2003; 05-05-2015 at 03:03 AM.

Grinding the point on the blade, so it will fit the scales is a bad thing. IMHO Don't grind the blade.
Smarter than I look or, not as dumb as I look. Whichever you prefer.

Thanked: 2Not grinding the blade. I said running the wedge to fit the blade was a possibility

Imp scale material shrinks. Shorten the wedge. I have one that the blade dang near hits the pin but my boy got it for me so I have been resistant to rescale. If you shorten the blade in a few years you will be doing it again.

Definitely a possibility. Pics if possible will sort this out with a quickness. They are nice blades. We the community try to save and restore what cannot be replaced. So WE get a little over zealous sometimes. What do you mean by "running the Wedge"?

Thanked: 2Auto corrected from trimming. I was thinking of trimming a space above the pin for the blade to sit and adding a third pin near the hinge pin to keep it from hitting the wedge

Before you do anything please post pictures. Picture is worth a 1000 words. You should always consider the least invasive proccedure to fix the problem. Extra pins while not out of the question require drilling (CRACK) the scales. And the fun of repinning a 3 pin set up. Its tricky for starters and it will alter the original look. Lastly your razor your rules. I just broke and ruined so many before I started listening to these guys . I could have alot more nice razors and scales that are now junk. Our only goal is to help you , reduce damage and increase your skill set. Please take all our advise as the collective wisdom of been there and done that, and heres what happened. I dont wish to show the pictures.
