I believe it is simply a reference to PRC using a thicker stock than they did previously. They announced the change in February of this year. I believe it is 7/32" but I cannot be bothered to go search for the thread.

It is very similar in thickness to my W&B FBU.

Yes like anything.................will buy more of their products. I really am waiting for their production or start of taking orders for their shorty lineup. Thinking of a round toe short in spalted maple scales double pinned for sure to use on tight places and hard to reach areas that needs a shorter length razor.

Thank you my friend. I really wanted one of these when I first saw them and so happy that an American based company can make such a great razor.

Definitely different feltspanky than a full hollow like my Germans to date. But in a good way.

    Congrats!
Harold the tail is a little longer than my others but without that cupped upswing which was not really a issue when shaving. I know Scott and Hunter can make you a longer tail if you ever ordered one from them because I have seen some definite blade variations from their posted norm on their instagram pics. I have medium sized hands so it was not an issue. I would definitely say if you can find someone close by with one to see if they will let you hold it to try on for size.

I would have to pull out the calipers to get an accurate measurement...........this is on sight only and it is hefty compared to others I have......and yes it is the spine area that is thick for sure. I am not as versed as you on razors so as to exact dimensions or knowing the total anatomy of razors in history is not my specialty. Now if you want to talk hazardous waste and transporting deadly chemicals I can speak with total expertise.

Michael, we work with the same stuff . . . who would have thought?

I am with you on the notion of purchasing another PRC, but yeah, not until things settle down. The shorty is not on my radar, but I want to see what else constitutes their "Artisan" line before making a decision. I really like the (French?) point on your Kraken, so that will likely feature, and certainly something exotic for the scales.

You are correct. It was the reference to the larger bar stock in 2015.

Beautiful razor. I truly love the PRC Hydra I have. I plan on ordering another custom model as well. I like the extended jimps on yours. I was amazed at how well my Hydra shaved and the heavier blade is a dream. I have course facial hair and this thing cuts through like butter! I can't wait until they start taking orders again.
