    Default Traded for new toys

Wife wanted me to reduce the number of razors I have. I traded four American DEs to a German gentleman for these two, plus the shave sticks and the gummies.

I do not have a gummie collection nor am I a connoisseur, but I do love straight razors. The Henckels is quite recent and should be a great shaver. The Herder is also one of those wow brands and shoulder less blades are just better.

I was originally just going to get the Henkel's was the one I wanted, but I liked the look of the Herder so much I wanted to get it too. I had never heard of the brand, but I just really liked the way it looked. The owner said it will be difficult to hone, and recommended I send it to a honemiester, since I haven't really done much with a razor.

That F. Herder brand is top quality. I had one a while back and before I really knew exactly what it was I gave it to one of our soldiers in Iraq. There are times I wish I had it back but I feel he deserves it more than me. No big deal......I'll find another one.

Congrats on a great score! Both are real fine razors.

There are a few different Herder razors. There is also a club http://straightrazorpalace.com/razor...er-razors.html

For me I find the shoulder less blades easier to hone and for some reason easier to use not to mention they just look awesome.
