Thanked: 4206Going to be a nice old razor when cleaned up! I too am a big fan of Reynolds razors. They are hard steel that takes a great edge and holds on to it.
Enjoy the restore..

I received this one today and while looking at it the wedge end came apart. Will I send it back . NO. the blade and scales are in way to good a shape to send any where. I finished takeing the razor apart and now letting the horn scales soak in neatsfoot oil and I sanded and polished the blade. I will clean and re-assemble the razor in a couple of days and then hone. the wedge end came loose when I opened and closed the razor . it seems like the collar was too big from the get go or the pin wasn't mushroomed enough. either way it happened but I can take care of that. when finished i'll post photos of it .

Thanked: 1184I love it when they start doing the work themselves. Disassemble is a 1/4 of it :<0)
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

I sat down today and honed this one. it does shave rather well so I guess I got lucky with it. I believe it's a keeper at least for a while. I did get both thumbs injected yesterday so honing was easier. it was like I had 50 year old hands again
