This one came today. You can't be lucky all the time. It is ivory. the scales aren't quite as I would like. one side looks like it was buffed in the middle a little too much. There not cracked but not as nice as the photo suggest. The blade well it's got age and use on it. looks like it too was brushed too much on one side. I took it to the buffer and polished the blade some then cleaned . I just got through honing and will find out about it's shaving ability tomorrow. If it shaves I will make the decision whether to keep it or let it find a new home.

You can't win them all. if so then it wouldn't be half as fun. I see this one as a teaching experience.

Well I may have to eat my words. I got this one honed up using 3 layers of electrical tape. .0085 thickness. I know that's a lot but it took that much to get the edge I wanted. I went through the 1-3-5-8-12K naniwa progression then finished with the 20K. stropped good then shaved. this razor gave a very good shave smooth and comfortable. very close. handled rather nicely even around the old apple. I may have spoken to harshly. You never can tell you know.
