Default Beautiful cigar boxes -- design ideas needed

So my lovely wife headed out to get her employer's warehouse ready for an inventory sale tomorrow, and for $20 she came home with these two beauties for me:

The burl one was marked $300 and the walnut $200. That is probably why they hadn't sold them retail, since you can buy them on Amazon for $50-$75. They are 10 x 7.75 x 3.375 inches on the interior and are nicely made and seal tightly when closed and had a small tag that said "holds 50 cigars". They each have one moveable/removable divider.

She thought (correctly) that they'd be great for razors, so my wheels started turning on what to do with the interiors. Since they are deep enough for 2 layers of razors I have lots of options. One of my questions is should I seal the interiors, and if so, with what? I'd love to have some of you craftsmen give me ideas about clever interior treatments....double deck, slanted single layer for display, cloth, etc. Fire away with any reasonable ideas/advice (and no, I'm not sending them to you to look at).

No ideas for razors, but make sure to include a space for a desiccant package or two. Those were made to keep moisture IN the box when closed, so any moisture left on the razor will be staying there.

I know. That's why I asked about sealing. I have desiccants everywhere (razors, guns, etc.) I live at the beach. But, if I get them dry, they'll stay dry if the wood isn't constantly gassing off damaging moisture and other vapors.

Seal the interior with varathane after sanding it with 400 grit sandpaper.
Could make a hinged set up, similar to a tackle box where the upper shelf is halved and opens to the sides.
Lower shelf for blades, upper shelf for more blades, or brushes and soaps?

I would use them for long term storage. I would use a layered approach. Cut some thin nice wood to fit inside each box to use as a horizontal divider. Insert a couple of small bolts into the divider to grab when you want to remove the horizontal layer.

    Just an idea

What if you have only 25 razors in your collection?

Even though they may be budget humi's the liners may be spanish cedar and if it is you probably do not want to seal it. One reason spanish cedar works so well in humidors because it can absorb moisture. Any moisture that may even think of being on your razors would be absorbed by the cedar.

Since you are not adding a humidifier as you would with cigars you just benefit from the cedar's ability to absorb moisture.

And a warning about spanish cedar. Any dust from sanding it can be extremely hazardous to your health, extremely hazardous.

Nice looking boxes! I have a simlar box (in size, not very pretty) that I store my knives in. I cut slots into a piece of foam to hold the knives in place and left room for several packets of moisture absorbing packets. I have had the set up for almost a year now and it works great!
