Thread: Yuma Safety Razor

I noticed a Yuma and a Chinese saferty razor in our grocery store yesterday, when I checked the angle between the top and the bottom parts, Yuma seemed like it would give a smooth shave to me because it was looked like between 0 or 1 settings on my Merkur Progress. but the Chinese one was like 4 or 5 maybe more, so I left that one.
So, I bought the Yuma thinking it'll be fun to try, it was a bit expensive though (like 1.7 USD) Had a shave with my most familiar blade Perma-Sharp a little ago.
I was right about the angle, shave was smooth, no nicks nor alum burns, nothing whatsoever. Just two pass and minor corrections took care of everything for a decent close shave, am I too lucky or what?
BTW I've used Edwin&jagger Sandalwood soap after Proraso sandalwood pre-shave balm, nothing else.
After Perma-Sharp goes blunt, I'll throw a black Feather blade in and report that too, if I don't forget. I wish I had Personna Med preps to try out too.
My only complaint is razor is too light and small, almost like holding a cheapest Bic plastic razor, a bit weight would help for the feed back to fingers, not a big deal but maybe I've got used to a bit heft thats why, I dunno. Luckily its handle is not slippery. Wondering if Yuma would make a good short travel razor for some, if you forget in somewhere that'll be no problem. So from a fun Yumo shave thats all in my mind folks.

I have gotten a few inexpensive razors from Turkey. Light and cheap but with choice of blade they do very well! I sometimes buy shave software from Bestshave.net,
