Trying to remember what, who, and how much paid does not come into the picture...till thinning out a collection. And then...Geeeze!

Having a photo makes it easier to send one to a prospective buyer also. There are good reasons for hundreds of SOTD's

Hi, Willisf. I'll file those ideas away for later when (if) I get someone to help develop the Straight section for the database. At this point it's only for DE Razors and for Brushes.

    Thanks for the ideas.

I've been using a homemade excel spreadsheet to keep track of my collection. I did not think of MS Access. I'll have to check it out.

    Hi karlei.

    Nice looking spreadsheet.

I figured that Access would give greater flexibility when it comes to making reports, or exporting data; but it looks like your Excel sheet has a lot going for it too.

If you are able to do Access programming, would you like to volunteer for the next phase on my database -- adding sections for SE razors, Straights, Injectors, Scuttles&Mugs, etc? I don't (yet) use a straight so I would not know where to start in identifying what data to capture on that section. You obviously would. What do you say, Karlei?

Sorry I wish I could help but I have no experience with MS Access.

OK: I know the feeling. I can't do Access either (I bribed a friend to do the part I'm working on now).

If I (we?) are lucky, we'll find a volunteer somewhere in the wet shaving community to jump on board and work with me to expand this so more wet shavers can benefit from it.

Stay tuned; we'll see where this leads.
