Yes there were Scottish Razorsmiths
I was lucky enough to acquire this downright beautiful razor from a "buy it now" auction on eBay. The seller was asking $19.99obo. I immediately ended the auction at the full asking price. The purchase was a risk, even at $19.99. The image was grainy and taken from far back, and submitting a question may cause me to lose out on something potentially nice due to wasted time.
Now the razor that I received, is definitely something I did not expect. I'm not good at judging age, but going by the coffin box, I'd guess mid 1800ish? I can't find any information on the company, any advice is welcome. Regardless, this is a very old blade. But it truly doesn't show. The steel does not have one bit of pitting or tarnish. The only thing I needed to do was tighten the pins. And yes, the wedge is lead. Enough blabbering!
I present the JB Richards Argyle St 3/4" Near Wedge with original matching coffin
Given that I'm Scottish born, this is one razor that I will never part with. Thank you for your time gents, hope you all have a fantastic Friday!

It's a Beaut! Now you got me Googling to see if there were any Welsh razor manufactures.

You razor looks like my Preist&Co. Prince of Wales. Except that mine has a smile for whatever reason. Love that kinda grind, well done on the purchase!

There were Scottish, Irish, southern-English, Belgian, Swedish, French, Swiss, Italian (and many countries in between) cutlery firms, both makers and distributors. Sheffield and Solingen just take most of the spotlight today (and then).

It shaved remarkably well even though the iron worms got it.
