Personally i wouldn't feel so good about that....

Going back to the original auction, it is obvious that the seller had no idea what he was selling.

No Martin I found a message from him & he wanted it back bad so I sent him the money back & he was trying to get it back again because apparently it didn't go for what he expected to after he told me he was afraid that he would get a bad feedback but I'm not that way unless a seller is very rude to me. In all the years I have been doing business on eBay, 13 years since 2002, I have only left two negative feedbacks but they deserved it & I would check in on them from time to time & they were getting more negatives. One eventually isn't an eBay member anymore because she kept screwing people over. There was one more I was going to leave a negative for but that seller closed his/her account before I could leave it.
I wrote this guy back & I told him it was a contract so don't be trying to get it back. I even called eBay about it & they took my side & told me if he tries to get it back to call them back. Apparently he did know it was chipped but didn't mention it & then he wanted it back so when I make a deal like that & have a minor issue with it, I'll just eat it. I actually deleted my post as you were writing yours.

Lemme get this straight, Steve. You got your money back, right? Seems you are then obligated to send it back?
    I am missing something here?

No Tom, I had already left him a positive feedback but I guess I should have just let it go because he refunded the money & I looked at my messages & he wanted it back so I said that I still wanted it, so I repaid him but then he sent a refund again so I paid him again & I told him, "Look I left you a positive feedback so it isn't like I wanted a refund". This went on after my last message last night on here & so I called eBay & told them what was going on today. They said as long as I was happy with it, I was ok but I think he was thinking he should have gotten more for it which is why he kept refunding me & as soon as I said that he failed to mention the chip, he sent a refund w/o asking me what I would like to do & kept doing it after I paid him again. If I had not sent him a feedback yet, then eBay would have made me send it back but because I did as soon as I got it, he had no leg to stand on. They said that they were going to contact him about it & he stopped the crap! He had apparently done this once before but it had been awhile back & the rep told me that he figured they wouldn't see that but they went back & saw that he had done it but it had been over a year ago. If he expected to get more for it, he should have put a reserve on it.
I listed a Morgan silver dollar once & I check my listings before I submit them & after. Once submitted, I looked & it said bin & I had hit the auction button, not fixed price so I went back to revise it & it was too late, someone had bought it & I lost money on that one. I called eBay about it & I told them what happened & they said that things like that have happened but very rarely & were apologetic. They did ask me if I had cleared my cookies & I do that before I list something. I had to let it go & I wasn't happy about it but I didn't try to refund the guy his money or cancel the transaction. Weird things happen sometimes & we just have to eat it. They did send me a gift card or credit because it happened.
What a day it has been!
I blocked him just in case he decides to buy something from me just to leave a retaliatory feedback.

I was just pointing it out to try & help him in the future. It's like last night I saw a restored Greaves selling as shave ready for $175 & it had a bid on it. As I looked at the pics, I could see a nick in the blade, so I sent the seller a message in a nice way with minutes left for it to end. He wrote me back after the auction ended & was very nice & appreciated that I pointed it out to him. He said he had to look at it under magnification & he saw it. He wrote me again today leaving his phone number plus thanking me again for bringing it to his attention & that he was going to fix it before he shipped it out.

NOTE: Just to clear any confusion up, I had gone to my purchased items to check the tracking on some recon turquoise & I had noticed the C V Heljistrand status had changed so I knew he had given me a refund which was when I wrote "Christmas came early" on here. I then thought to check my messages & so I did & he wrote back & said he wanted it back so I came back & removed my post. Then I paid him back telling him I wasn't looking for a refund & he started a big stink over it returning the refund so I paid again & I told him I left him positive feedback when I got it. I was just trying to help the guy out for any future listings he might have. That was when he kept returning the payment but I finally got it all straightened out after a lot of time on the phone with the bay. Also I wasn't looking to buy the Greaves but sometimes I watch auctions & i just so happened to see the nick in the blade which was when I sent the seller a message.
I apologize for any confusion I may have caused.

If you left him a positive feedback why would he even think of leaving you a retaliatory negative feedback?

Martin, I understand your question & I respect yours along with the rest but when a seller or buyer gives me so much problems over a simple thing, I block them just in case. I have known people it happened to so I'm just watching my back. The last person to leave me a negative was a real weirdo! He was out of the country & I sold him something which he expected me to pay his part of the Global shipping which is his responsibility, not mine. He opened a case against me on eBay & they saw that he was being irrational so they closed it in my favor but he then did exactly what I expected him to do & left me a negative feedback plus had the audacity to open a case against me on Paypal. It was a two day bunch of unnecessary bs! Ebay told me as soon as Paypal closed their case, they would remove the negative which is what Paypal did so I called eBay back to get the negative removed but the rep, a guy who sounded like he had sugar in his tank, said that he couldn't remove it. I then waited a few minutes & called back & spoke to a woman who immediately removed the negative feedback. I told her about the guy who wouldn't remove it & because they have those calls on record, she said she was going to report him to his supervisor.
The bottom line is, I am just keeping from some bs happening again & spending a lot of time on the phone just because of a jack ass. I have better things to do than to have to spend a lot of time on the phone with eBay! I have encountered some real weirdos on eBay & I have also met some great people like the guy whom I mentioned he had a nick in his blade he was selling & he was a very nice guy plus very appreciative about it.
    Happy Holidays everyone!
